Advantages: Hard wearing, simple toy that will last test of time

Disadvantages: None

Both my mother and my mother in law have a box of Fisher Price toys that were used when me and my husband were growing up, and really have stood the test of time. Fisher Price isn't by any means the cheapest brand around but that fact that they produce well made, durable toys is worth paying that little bit extra which is why it is one my favourite brands for my little girl, when browsing the likes of amazon for toys for her. This Fisher Price Press and Go Crocodile is actually a toy that I had on my amazon wishlist, but a friend beat me to it, and bought it for my little girl when she came to visit one day not long ago.

This Fisher Price Press and Go Crocodile can be picked up on the likes of amazon for just under £10, and as well as the crocodile there appears to also be a leopard in the same range. Unlike a lot of toys nowadays this does not require any batteries and therefore this too shall be a durable long lasting toy. This toy is suitable for babies from 6 months old and I would say that is a good estimate.

Unfortunately there obviously isn't a picture at the top of the screen, but this is a very cute colourful toy that certainly caught my daughter's attention the minute she saw it. The main shape of the toy is a green crocodile, with some sharp looking plastic teeth and a turned up tail. On top of the crocodile's back are two blue penguins sitting together, and it is when you press down on these penguins that the crocodile moves along the floor, with its mouth opening slightly as it moves. My almost 8 month old daughter isn't quite able to press the penguins herself, although she does try, but she loves watching the penguins being pressed and the crocodile coming towards her! In fact, she has now started giggling when it comes towards her, even though it doesn't actually make any noise.

The great thing about this toy, is that is works just as well on carpet as it does on a hard floor, so it doesn't matter what kind of floor you have in your home, which is a plus.

The other thing that my daughter enjoys about this toy are the four wheels which are all different colours and all have different textures on them, which she likes to try (!) and fit into her mouth to chew on, but we do find that it keeps her amused for quite some time.

All in all, this is a great basic toy that certainly won't date, unlike some that require batteries. It is the kind of the toy that I can imagine any other babies we have using as well as grandchildren in the far away future. Like all Fisher Price toys this is hard wearing toy and my daughter has certainly tested that out given how many times this gets tossed around and dropped, and it is in perfect condition.

Summary: A great basic toy from Fisher Price
