We actually received this toy when my little girl was born and now we are experiencing the fun of it again with my little boy. This is a ring stacker with a difference. The base of the ring and the holder itself is made to look like a giraffe. The stick holder onto which you stack the rings is plastic but the base of it is round and made of a soft material. The colours are bright and yellow and there are lots of red and orange dots all over it. It also has four little orange feet on it too sticking out like little tags and this is something my little boy likes to put in his mouth for some reason. The dots are kind of a different way of portraying a giraffe colours but I think its cute and it works very well. The plastic stacker also has lots of red and orange dots on it too. At the top there's a cute giraffe face with a huge big smile on its face. He has soft pink ears and little antenna too just like a real giraffe.
The stacker then comes with three rings of differing sizes. The biggest ring which goes on the stacker first is a green alligator ring. THis has a soft texture to it and little printed squares on it which kind of give the illusion of an alligators skin. Around the edge is a yellow jagged ribbon which looks like alligator scales. In side this ring there is a rattle so when you shake this ring it will make a rattling noise.
The second ring is a tiger ring. This is orange and has brown tiger prints on it. There is also some brown fringing felt on the sides which I think look a bit like a tigers fur. Inside this ring there is a bell and so when you shake this ring it will jingle.
The third ring is the smallest and goes at the top and this is a zebra ring. This is black and white and down in zebra print. This ring is made out of a satin material and so is quite smooth and shiny. There are three little black tags around this ring and inside the ring there is the crinkle type material so when you play with this ring and squish it in your hands it makes the crinkle noise that babies love so much.
I started playing with this with my little boy when we read stories in my little girls room at bedtime. He would be playing on the floor and his attention was really drawn to this. I like to hold the rings just above his eyes and he really likes the zebra one as I think he can really focus on the black and white colours. I will let him play with this rings too, either chewing on them or just moving them in his hands. He really enjoys playing with them and although he is not using this as a ring stacker yet I'm sure in a few months he will.
All in all a fun toy with lots of different aspects to it.
