“ Manufacturer: Fisher Price / A classic roly poly toy. „
As we continue to fill our Nursery with toys related to the Rainforest Friends theme, I decided to purchase this for our little boy.
Suitable from 3 months this is a traditional style toy that I remember having when I was younger but with a different design and some things just never change.
I purchased this from ebay for just 99p and it is as new it really is in excellent condition.
The toy has a green base and a clear top which houses a monkey, white tiger and a butterfly, the tio if the chime ball contains a sun and there are fabric leaves around the chime ball offering a different texture for baby as one side is satin and the othere is a felt type texture.
The animals do not move within the chime ball but when the ball is rolled or tipped the ball makes a chime sound, there really isn't much to this toy and I certainly wouldn't pay the RRP price of £12.99 as baby does get quite bored of the toy quite quickly.
The main reason I purchased this item was to co-ordinate with the nursery and to enable baby to roll around with the ball and interact with the toys and the chime sound.
One major disadvantage to this toy is the noise it makes when it bangs into the skirting boards or furniture, as you can imagine it is made out of pretty robust plastic but it is not scratch proof and with the item being clear plastic to the top scratches can have an effect on the actual view into the chime ball but I assume baby is not too bothered about this he is more bothered about the sound it makes and he enjoys rolling around with the ball and listening to the relaxing chime sound.
The only thing rainforest about the chime ball are the animals inside there are no rainforest noises which is a bit of a disappointment.
Do I regret purchasing this item? For 99p no I do not it is an ok toy and as a traditional Fisher Price toy lover it took me back to when I was a baby but I would have thought Fisher Price could have enhanced the toy a little bit more to make it more entertaining for baby.
The chime ball is pretty heavy and when it gets dropped or rolled onto your feet it can cause quite a bit of pain so my husband and I try to use the chimeball with him rather than leaving him to his own devices mainly so nobody gets hurt if it rolls a little bit too fast and also to prevent damage to the inside of our home with chipped paint where it has been banged into the wall or skirting boards.
