My daughter is 8 months old and at Christmas (when she was 6 months) I started to look around for what I call a play station. A stationary entertaining toy that they are seated/stand in.
My mother had previously bought a similar product for my nephew that she keeps at her house and it looked great, something safe to put the baby in whilst I pottered on. I had also read that stationary stations like this rather than mobile walkers are better for babies to develop the strength in their legs ready for walking. I have a few friends with the bouncy type which do look very entertaining but I wouldn't have been as confident about leaving my daughter in it as she is very strong and adventurous!
Therefore when I saw this one on sale in Smyths I bought it happily for £50. Most others I had looked at we're at least £80. It is currently on sale from around £150. I do not think it is worth that kind of money. They are readily available second hand as they are the kind of thing that children inevitably grow out of and take up a lot of space.
It is easy to construct with 3 brightly coloured legs that can be raised as your child grows. It is suitable from 6 months plus. I find it to be very sturdy and at first my daughters legs did not touch the floor even on the lowest setting so I used to turn her to play with each of the toys but now she can turn her self 360 and access all the toys herself.
I would say it is laid out in 3 main sections and my daughter definitely has a favourite which is a the cow and horse which you turn and it sets off music and makes a circle to the right and the bunnies to the left move. It is quite fast and loud possibly a little scary for very young babies. My daughter loves noise so great for her. It also has a section with frogs and ducks. There is a ball with a frog in the middle with small balls inside and it can be spun round, she also loves this part. The other sections are a little more boring a dog and cat that you push and the B.I.N.G.O song plays and then a car which you push and it makes a beep beep and brum brim noise.
The seat cover is removable and washable but a little small, I think if you have a chubby child they make struggle getting their legs in and out. I do like it and so does my daughter but I prefer the one my mother has, it seems a bit more varied and seems to keep my daughter entertained for longer. I am happy for the money I paid but not worth any more.
