Advantages: Lots of ways to play

Disadvantages: None for us

What are they?
These blocks come in a transparent case which is great for storage as they can be kept together very easily in a tidy place without taking up too much room. It is fairly easily to place all the blocks back into the bag again and my children love trying to stack them in and out themselves so it provides and extra element of play for them. Now that my little girl is older she likes to carry the pack around with her as it has a handle on the top or put the bag on her dolls pushchair to take to play.

Each block is bright colourful and really attractive to children they also include pictures of farmyard animals so it is great for teaching little one the names of animals and the sounds thy make. Also there are pictures of teddy bears and a washing line with different items of clothing so all familiar objects that can help boost little ones vocabulary. The bright colourful design are great at catching little ones attention but also holding it as well and my children never seem to get bored with these even though my eldest son is now 4. On every side of the block is a different picture on them so little one is greeted by something new and this really seems to please my children.

How to play?
There are lots of ways that little one can play with these toys as they are very light even a small baby can easy pick them up and as they are soft they can squeeze them to get a good grip in their hands. They can be thrown around as they are very soft and there is no way that little one could hurt themselves or others so they can go wild with them. I found with my children this meant it encouraged them to crawl as the blocks would fly away from them and they would try and move towards them.

Also they can be stacked as they are square they stack well on top of each other although as they are a good size it does limit how high younger children can build them up but stacking fun all the same. If they fall there is no danger of little one hurting themselves and it provides a really good giggle for them.
As they get older they help introduce animals, colours and matching as there are more than 1 of the same animal you can teach little one to match them into pairs so they can grow with little one. Also as one side of each blocks have numbers on them it is great for introducing little one to numbers.

Then each block has a square with a cute teddy bear on them doing different actions so little one can put these together to make a story about teddies day. This can be changed each time and my children love making the teddy do different things on different days just by changing the order of the blocks.
Finally there are 6 squares that build a washing line as little one grows it is fun seeing them fit each piece of the puzzle together working out what goes where and slowly working out that each block although very pretty also fits together to make puzzles.

Inside one of the blocks there is a bell so my children always like to mix the blocks all up and be the first to find the 1 and only bell. I do think it would have been nice to have one of these in each but there is so many ways to play with these blocks already I do not think this matters too much.

Washing
The great thing about these blocks is each cover coves off to show the foam block underneath. This makes them perfect for washing and I can put them in the washing machine and thy come up as good as new again which with young children for me this is a major advantage. This means they have lasted 3 of my children and still look brand new.
It is very easy to remove the covers by lifting the Velcro but can be a little harder getting them back on it is a tight squeeze and at first the foam blocks look a little misshaped but this soon puffs back and returns them to the square form they once came in.

Our opinion
We love them we have had these for all 3 children now and although they suggest an age range of 3 months plus I thought this was a little low. Yes they are soft and there is absolutely nothing that little one can hurt themselves on but I do think they are a little on the large size for a 3 month old baby to play with.
They promote hand eye co ordination, help build little ones vocabulary, introduce numbers and have games designed into the blocks to grow with the child as they do what more could you ask for.
My children began playing with these from about 1 year old and as the blocks grow with the children they still play with them now. They retail at around £10 for the full 6 blocks which I think is fantastic especially as we have already had 3 years use out of them and I am sure my new arrival will love them too!

Summary: Fantastic soft blocks
