I have seen my daughter play more gently with a few spoons and saucepans that she has dragged out of the cupboard than with this Happyland toy. In fact, sometimes she gets stressed out by the house quickly because she likes to move toys around but this one is too bulky and heavy, and again I think the bright colours have a strong impact on her. The loud noises don't help either, and we don't allow this toy t...more

Happyland Martian Moon House: They say Martian; I say 'alien' (673 words)

My mother in law bought the Happyland Martian Moon House for my daughter when she was about 17 months old. Personally I didn't and still don't like the look of this toy. It is completely plastic which feels unnatural in our household as we mostly go for wooden toys and books, with a focus on chemical-free toys where possible. We bought this toy for our son, who at the time was 8 months. We have several happyland play sets that my daughter played with and my son also enjoyed playing with these but there was nothing really 'boyish' hence the Martian House purchase! We bought this from the Early Learning Centre while the half price deal we on so we only paid £20 for it. The set comes with the house, three aliens and their pet, a spaceship and martian buggy. The house itself includes a landing pad, with a chute down to the garage, a kitchen type area, a bedroom complete with beds and a slide leading from the bedroom to the base of the house. There is even a kennel for the alien pet. ...  Read the complete review

The Happyland Martian Moon House is sold by the Early Learning Centre, it costs £40 (plus £4.95 delivery if ordering online) and can be bought from Amazon for the same price but with the added bonus of free delivery. The Moon House is recommended as suitable for age 18 months plus and requires 2 x AA batteries. The Moon House is made entirely of bright chunky plastic, as you will see from the image it is very colourful, including colours such as yellow, orange, blue and green. The Moon House is very good quality, it's very sturdy due to it's chunkiness and it has a wide base making it difficult for a child to accidentally knock over while ...  Read the complete review
