We have quite a HappyLand Village building up in our house now. I love HappyLand sets as they are always well made, are fun to play with and include lots of different characters, people and everyday situations.
Happyland is a magical land brought to you by those clever people at Early Learning Centre. They describe Happyland as, "A place where children's imagination can run wild. ELC offer a range of fabulous buildings, characters, animals and vehicles from this great range. With HappyLand toys children can build a collection that can be added to over time to create an imaginary town and learn about all walks of life."
This police station is just a simple small little plastic set but my son really does love it. The station itself is quite simple compared to a lot of the other Happyland play houses. You get a small police station with a door that opens and closes and then the back is open so it allows you to get into and play with the back easily. Inside you see a little police persons desk set up with a table, a coffee cup and a radio, phone and computer. To the side is a cool wanted poster of of course, a bandit in a mask. The best part of the police station is the roof. On here you will find three buttons that my little boy loves to press, over and over again. They make some really fun, loud police noises. the first button makes a Nee naw sound, the middle button makes a siren sound and the last button makes a ring noise. They are all quite realistic and I think add to the fun of the police station.
The station also comes with a little basic toy police car and a police woman. The lady can sit/stand in the car and the nice thing is that you can fit any Happyland figure in the car as they are all interchangeable so your other figures can use the car if you wish. The early Learning Centre recommend that you can, "Zoom the police lady around the village, ensure everyone is safe and help the police officer direct the traffic."
Other games they suggest are, "All-action police: Zoom the police car to an emergency and make lots of fun siren sounds. Seek out missing pets, help people who are lost and direct traffic when there's a big jam.
Clever detectives: Walk the officers on the beat, help them chat and set them fun challenges. Hunt down missing jewels, seek out stolen cakes or get a dog its missing bark back. "
We have a lot of fun with this set and like to use it in conjunction with our other Happyland sets so you will often find a sheep or a little girl "in jail" in the police station.
The Early Learning Centre say this set helps with, "Inspiring young police fans, encouraging talking and learning new games, getting confident as you play, discovering pretend play and developing strength and precision in little fingers." I would say all of the above is true and I think it's a good addition to the Happyland family.
The set requires 4 x AA batteries and costs £15 from The Early Learning Centre.
