      Happyland where everyone is smiling.

      == Happyland Village Vet's Set ==

      Happyland is a range of toys from the Early Learning Centre, available in store, online and at other retail outlets such as Mothercare and Boots, Happyland has a range of different playsets and figures designed for toddlers, with many of the toys being for 12 or 18 months plus.
      The vets set comprises of a vet house, 2 people and 3 pets and is £16 at full price.
      I believe the set has changed colours over the years and even the addition of more piece in a deluxe set, for the purpose of the review I am reviewing the set in the picture.

      == The Set ==

      The main part of the set is the village vet's house, this is made of a tough chunky plastic. It measures 14 cm wide, 20 cm high, and has a depth of 10 cm.
      On the front is a door and window and Village Vet sign complete with animal pictures, on the side is a cute picture for Shampooch a dog washing service. There is a cross sign sticking out of the house which has a paw print on.
      The back of the house is open and the perfect size for toddler hands. Inside there is lots of details to fuel the imagination while playing. All the details are either fixed or molded into the plastic , there is a sink, a sideboard complete with medicine bottles, a bench and a vet's table. On the wall is a bookcase with more medicine, plants, pictures and files. The is also a doormat behind the door, the doormat and the vet's table have sounds this requires 2 button cell batteries which are included in the set.
      The door to the vet's is a typical Happyland door in that it falls off frequently but it makes it safe so I can't really moan about it.

      Mr.Paws the vet and Nancy the nurse are the people that come with the set, they are both made of one solid piece of tough plastic and are 7 cm high. The details on the people gives the shape so they are perfect for small hands to grip. Mr.Paws comes dressed in his vet's uniform with a parrot on his shoulder. Nancy is dressed as a nurse and is carrying a clipboard.
      The pets are made in the same solid one piece way, there is black cat, a bunny rabbit and a sheep dog. these range from 4-5 cm in size.

      == In Play ==

      As a playset it works really well thanks to all the details on the inside and outside on the house , and the 2 people and 3 pets it gives plenty to do and you wouldn't need other sets. Both my children loved imaginative play from an early age and have had lots of use from this set. The pieces are easy to move in and out of the vet's house , and chunky enough to withstand dropping and are perfectly safe for having a taste as lots of toddlers tend to put them in their mouths.
      My children have enjoyed taking the animals to the vets and having them made better, as well as just using it as a house for the animals to live in. Its not too big or heavy so easily transportable , I always took some Happyland along when my children were in high chairs if we were going out to eat , it always kept them amused until the food arrived. In particular my daughter loved the pets and the people and would regularly spend a car journey with 1 in each hand making them chatter to each other, and the bunny and cat were favourites for a good few months and had to be taken everywhere.

      == Thoughts ==

      I am trying to remember if this was bought for our son who is now 10, or our daughter who is 6 years old, either way its been in our toy box a long time. There is absolutely no damage to the toy at all , even the stickers are in perfect condition. Nothing has cracked or broken off despite being dropped numerous times. There is a tiny bit of paint wear along some off the edges of the people , but really absolutely nothing in comparison to the amout of play it has had.
      The size and quality mean is it perfect for toddlers , and with no small bits to break off they are very safe. My children have always loved Happyland and I regularly buy Happyland for 1st and 2nd birthdays for family and friend's children.
      This is a lovely introduction to Happyland or another part of your Happyland Village , in terms of quality it will last for years and can be passed on when outgrown.
      Our Happyland play is coming to an end now my daughter is 6 , or so I though as upon seeing me with the set while writing this and wanting to know what I was doing, she went straight to the bunny and the cat and has now taken the whole set up to bed with her.
      Highly recommended 5 out if 5.
