I think Mr Potato Head has got to be one of the most famous toys ever! I saw it on my usual trip to Tesco the other day and just had to buy one for my daughter! I instantly remembered the hours of fun my sisters and I had at my nans every week with this product! It is a long standing hit with children as it was 'born' in 1952 and has been in production ever since. Originally you just brought the Mr Potato head kit which came with the plastic parts (arms, legs, eyes, nose etc) but no body so parents had to provide their own potato! My daughter received a Mr Potato Head for her birthday, and instantly it brought back memories from my childhood, except back then I would have used a real potato and improvised on what was pushed through to make the face and body. In the present day Mr Potato Head has come a long way, made purely out of durable plastic and suitable for children over the age of two, he has become a toy destined for many toy boxes due to his nostalgia as well as educational functions.
