      Not really childsplay...

When my daughter turned three, her Nanna, knowing her love of Hello Kitty bought her this make up case as a gift. I had my reservations at the time buying make up for children so young but it went on a high shelf for a while before she remembered it and asked me to get it down for her to play with.

The case is lined with plastic trays holding make up and there is a mirror in the lid which is a safety tin one. The mirror also has lights around it which are battery operated. The whole case closes with a clasp and is very portable.

I am pretty sure my MIL bought it when it was on offer but an online price for this 'toy' is £24.99 on price right home.

What do you get in this beauty case?
A toe separator, nail file, two polishes (one black! which got removed straight away and the other pink, I insist on supervision with this one). A few eyeshadows, blusher and lip gloss and some tiny brushes. Hair bobbles and a comb and a few clips. I think that was all.

      In use
I must admit our daughter loved playing with this but she was too young for it and the lip glosses were all over her face and the end result was not pretty. I let her go for it then cleaned her face and put the case back on a high shelf! she soon lost interest in it.

More than a year later, the case is now largely defunct with all the products gouged out or lost so I threw away the plastic liner insert and she just uses it as a carry case. It does say suitable for 3+ on the label but I don't agree a three year old should have their own make up and supervision with nail varnish is key. I'm quite relieved it has gone as the mess potential is high and I would not let her use make up outside the home.
