Having a son who adores Bob the Builder, it wasn’t a surprise this Christmas when most of his presents consisted of toys which were the ubiquitous friendly yellow hatted builder and his trusty team. He received a talking Bob, which came with a book to read alongside. This was an excellent quality Bob, approx 12” high, who had 6 buttons over his body. Whilst reading the story in the book, it tells you which button to press, and Bob ‘reads’ the story. It (he) appears to be very durable, the only downside being that within minutes my son had managed to get out the battery pack from within Bob's back. Also received was a talking ‘Scoop’. Scoop is the sensible yellow digger. He is certainly very sturdy, as my almost 3 year old is quite excitable with toys and he is still in one piece. By pulling his ‘scoop’ up and down he will say a variety of phrases and sounds, from the sound of a digger working (vrooom vroom!) to ‘Can we Fix It? Yes We Can’. He has an on off switch on his underside should you get really sick of hearing this however! (Which I am!) He also has a light on top which flashes whilst the sounds go, and all parts are fully movable. Another present was a ‘Muck’ the red dumper. Although more basic than the Scoop, he doesn’t talk (hooray!), his front scoop moves up and down, and he moves quite nicely on hard floors using his traction mechanism. All the items are well made and sturdy. Whoever designed their constuction were obviously aware of young children and how they play!!
Bob and Spud soft toys move, talk to each other and actually sing together!
