My friend's little boy received a rocking horse for his birthday earlier this year and since we are freefalling rapidly towards Christmas I thought it might be a good idea for me to tell you about it as it would make an excellent present which would last for quite a while! To give it the full title it is a Pintoy Baby Rocking Horse and it is made from strong, durable Rubber wood and from what I have seen would make a lovely traditional addition to any nursery. I don't know how much my friend's rocking horse cost so I have been taking a look on the internet and initially found it at www.amazon.co.uk at a cost of £54 apparently reduced from £56 but ... My second daughter was given this rocking horse as an early first birthday present from granny. When I saw it I thought it looked beautiful, but was sceptical as to whether it would get used, having seen friends buy expensive rocking caterpillars and the like and see them gather dust. I have to say that in actual fact this has been a fantastic toy. The horse is made from very good quality wood - as with all John Crane pintoy products. It is brightly painted and resists knocks and bangs well. It has a relatively small footprint; I just measured and I reckon it takes up about 30cm by 70cm of floor space so not excessive!
