“ Brand: John Lewis / Type: Stacking Rings „
This is such a simple classic toy but one that gets a lot of use and is a nice to keep out on display as it is so well made. You can buy stacking rings from just about any baby toy shop or speciality shop but these ones from John Lewis are really lovely. I purchased them use before Christmas. In the run up to Christmas John Lewis always have a really nice section selling lots of different and interesting gifts for Christmas and it was in here in my local shop that I found them. They had quite a lot of really nice toys for kids and I bought a few other things at the same time.
I bought these for my son who is three months old. At the moment he is a bit young to actually play with them as they are recommended for 12 months plus but that does't mean he can't get enjoyment out of them. I like to hold them up in front of his face so he can see the different colours and I also let him grab hold of them as he has a really strong grip and I think its good for babies to experience different textures and feelings right from when they are born.
My two year old girl really plays with these in the way they were intended to be played with, as stacking rings. She loves to pull them off the pole and put them back on again and this really does keep her entertained for quite a long time every time she plays with them.
These stacking rings are very well made in my opinion and they look like a good quality toy. They are made of rubber wood and are very thick and chunky and sturdy. There are six rings in total and what I love about them is that they are really brightly coloured and are a really good way to teach kids about colours. The bottom ring is the largest obviously and this is purple, then they go down in size from colours light blue, dark blue, green, yellow and orange and the stopper at the top of the pole is red. They all fit together nicely and are easy to put on and off the pole.
Stacking rings promote hand-eye coordination and problem solving and in my opinion these ones from John Lewis are some of the best. They cost £12 and are a toy I definitely recommend.
