I Seen some good reviews on here about Lamaze toys ands how well made they are so when I seen Freddie for just £5.40 I had a gift voucher I brought him with nothing to loose. Freddie the firefly can be used from birth so this was another appealing aspect as I was looking for toys for my bump who had not yet arrived.

When Freddie arrived I was pleasantly surprised as he was larger than I expected around 30 cm long and 22 cm wide and he was very brightly coloured. It has a multi coloured body with 6 legs tide in knots sown to it. Also there are wings sprouting of of it these are where the activities are. At the bottom of the firefly is a yellow and blue
rings and at the top is a clip so Freddy can be attached to prams cots etc.

On the left hand side as well as 2 wings there are 3 strips of material with a different texture on each. All four wings are made of material that crinkle which catches babies attention. On the left hand side the top wing has a little lady bird embroidered on it so its yet another different texture for little one to explore. On the bottom wing is a raised squeaker covered in green material and next to that a woolly blob for baby to explore. On the right side the top wing has a mirror on it with a piece of material over the top with two circles cut out so baby can explore with or without the flab lifted. The bottom wing has a pocket which holds a red ladybird shaped bit of plastic for a teething aid held on a string.This is one of my sons favourite parts as his first tooth is coming through so he loves chewing on it.

I think Freddie is brilliant and so do my children. Its a rattle activity centre and teething aid all in one its big but the wings make it possible for a smaller baby to hold. It is bright in colour which attracts little ones attention and it is so well mad it has already lasted two of my children. It can we be wiped clean and it grows with the child as they get older they learnt to explore a little more. I would recommend this to anyone to sit on the pram to keep little one occupied even if it is just for a newborn to stare and explore the bright colours.
