We got this Lamaze rattle when Cameron was a couple of months old - and we also have the very similar zebra rattle. Both of them cost £3.99 from Amazon - they are currently on sale at £4.99 which is slightly on the expensive side for what they are, so maybe wait until you find it on offer. Lamaze toys are lovely as most of them are suitable from birth, so would make lovely little gifts for a newborn baby. They also make lovely stocking fillers, but Cameron needed his well before Christmas in order to get the use out of them.
The panda rattle is very cute looking as you can see in dooyoo's picture. Being a panda it is black and white, which is ideal for a newborn, as the black and white contrast draws their attention before their sight is fully developed. The panda is also holding some green bamboo, made of green ribbon which adds a splash of colour to the toy. The Lamaze logo is on the front.
This rattle is the perfect size and shape for a small baby to hold, and Cameron has enjoyed picking it up and shaking it (as a rattle is intended) from about 4 months. It makes a lovely gentle rattle sound when shaken.
The rattle says on its label that it is handwash only, but I'm sure it would survive going in the machine. Lucky so far we have avoided Cameron being sick on his rattle, so we haven't actually needed to wash it!
5 out of 5 stars from us!
This is the very first little toy I bought for my son when he was around 4-5 weeks old. My health visitor had told me babies love black and white things so I ordered this little panda toy off Amazon, which cost around £4 at the time.
This is such a cute little toy, is is quite small, but the handle is a good size for a baby to hold, my son had no problems holding this when he got to about 5-6 months old. The rattle is a black and white panda on one side and on the back is a deep red colour, which is patterened. The red part is quite shiny and my son loved touching this part, I think the bright red colours attracted him more than the black and white. My son was fascinated when I put this panda round his wrist, he just couldn't work out how to get it off, it was so cute to watch.
The panda is holding some green leaves, and my son loved touching and exploring these. This became a great chew toy for when my son was teething, he was always chewing it, but it did not rip or tear. It looks in excellent condition still considering how much it went in his mouth! This has been through the washing machine so many times, and it comes up like new. Even the white parts are still a lovely bright white, it hasn't even gone grubby like I thought it would.
This was a lovely toy for my son when he was teething and learning to touch things and feel different textures. He is now 18 months old and doesn't take any interest in this toy anymore! If I give it to him, he just drops it straight away, so I think it is definitely for very young babies, as it doesn't do anything to keep them entertained now at his age! This is in the loft now in his baby toy box, but I will definitely be giving this as a first toy to my next baby!
My new grandson is very cute and cuddly and when I saw this little Panda rattle I couldn't not buy it for him as it's just so cute like him!
I like to buy a little newborn toy for a new baby as I think it's nice to give them something which they can grow with and hopefully become comforted and attached to. I just thought this was very, very sweet and a very reasonable price so thought it would make a lovely gift.
It only cost £5 from a garden centre and I thought that was a very good price.
What this picture that Ciao have provided doesn't show you is that this toy has two sides to it. It has the Panda side and then on the back is a different material which is very different to this. This makes it very interesting so will hopefully get a baby to be interested in it. The reverse side is a shiny red satin with little star shapes on. It's a bit of a rough texture too for them to feel.
The Panda side of this is nice and soft and the black and white makes it stand out. The reeds in it's hand is another element for children to feel these are like thin ribbons.
It has a little rattle when it's moved, this isn't too loud so it won't startle a new baby and it has a crinkly element to it too when you feel the head. It's a very nice soft rattle so ideal for new babies.
It isn't very big so a new baby will be able to hold it eventually.
My grandson enjoys smiling at this when it's rattled. His older sister finds it funny to dance around with the panda in front of him and it's lovely to see his eyes trying to focus on it. Black and white is a big contrast so it really stands out for a new baby who hasn't got great vision.
This is ever so sweet. You can't wash it well but for the price I don't think it matters too much, it is very reasonable so I suppose if your baby becomes very attached to it and then it is lost you can replace it without breaking the bank.
I'm pleased I purchased this as it's cute and I hadn't seen anything like it before! I hope that my little grandson will get lots of fun out of this. Very cute indeed.
