It's official. My mom has now become totally addicted with Lamaze toys - although obviously not to play with herself. Since I bought Alfie his first ever Lamaze toy - Jacques The Peacock everytime I get a voucher from Dooyoo my mom starts dropping hints about how nice another toy from the range is along with buying some herself. Alfie got two brand new Lamaze toys a few weeks ago one from me and the other from my mom and I thought I would review the one I got today - Tina The Tiger. I feel pretty bad actually as me and my mom have been calling it Tony LOL!
Lamaze - for those of you who have never heard of it is a really wide range of toys for babies and toddlers. Now Lamaze pride themselves on the fact that while their toys are fun they are educational as well and help provide your child with important skills they will need in later life eg. sensory development. All their toys are aimed for newborns right up until about 3-4 years old so if you are planning on buying one of these then it will be a firm favourite with your kid for a good few years - great value for money as most children get bored with a toy very quickly.
This toy is actually really cute and has absolutely loads of bright colours on it to attract your babies attention. Hanging off one paw is a rattle and the other has coloured rings on which Alfie loves to chew on as he is currently teething so this toy is great for a number of things. This one doesnt have as many sounds, colours and little added features as some on the other toys from this range so I reckon Alfie will become bored with this one a lot quicker than some of the other ones he has but he adores it at the moment so I consider that £10 well spent. I obviously cant comment on whether new born babies will like his toy as Alfie is 5 months now and he only got it a few weeks ago but if all the other toys he has are anything to go by then even newborns will love this one - my friends little girl is nearly 1 and when she comes round this is the first one she goes for so it definitely appeals to a wide range of ages.
As with all the Lamaze toys Tina has a clip on the top which means it can be taken pretty much everywhere: highchair, car seat, pram, cot - at the moment Alfie has just started properly grabbing and reaching for things so we have put this on his play mat so when he grabs it he can make it rattle by himself. This is often taken on long car journeys and it manages to keep him quiet and occupied so it may be worth buying just for 5 minutes peace and quiet LOL.
Now while I dont think this is Alfie's favourite and I think he will be bored of this a lot quicker than some of the other Lamaze toys I do still highly recommend it as I can guarantee children up until 3 will really love it as its bright, makes noises and theres something to chew on which lets face it is everything a child wants from a toy. And the fact that it will also help babies skill development in sight and sound only makes it even better. Highly recommended BUT Im knocking one star off!
I bought this toy fro around £10 on amazon including P&P so its great value for money in mine and Alfie's opinion!
