I love Lamaze toys since getting a Lamaze moose years before Cameron was born. So, I was really pleased to be given this Lamaze dog as a gift when Cameron was born.
Like most Lamaze toys it is lovely and colourful, and a toy suitable for babies from when they are newborns. The dog is mostly green (with the Lamaze logo stitched onto the front), but with legs, ears and nose of various different colours. It is a very bright and cheerful looking toy.
The legs have a variety of bells in them which makes a noise when shaking it, and one of them is holding a bone which is made of that lovely crinkly material which babies like to touch. The ears are also made of the same material.
When you squeeze the nose the dog makes quite a realistic woof woof followed by a panting noise which then repeats. When I make the toy make the noise Cameron stops what he's doing and tends to have a look of shock on his face. I hope one day it might make him smile though.
The toy has a clip on it, so it can be attached to pushchairs etc to keep your baby entertained when out and about.
This Lamaze 'Pupsqueak' toy currently costs £9.99 on Amazon which is a reasonable price for a high quality toy, and it would make a lovely gift for a baby, particularly if the family are dog lovers. I have to say though that I am not, and while a nice toy, it isn't Cameron's favourite, so I will give it 4 out of 5 stars!
Pup squeak is a cute little Lamaze plush toy that can currently (May 2012) be purchased on Amazon for £7.25. He is suitable from birth and is approximately 12 X 15 X 28 cms. Pup Squeak is brightly coloured and made of soft velour and he forms part of the extensive range of Lamaze toys, of a similar ilk.
Pup Squeak is able to bark if you squeeze his nose and this little feature is easy to use for small hands and always made my little boy giggle. He also squeaks when you squeeze his body, something I discovered after accidentally standing on him (Pup Squeak that is, not my son!), some months after we had him, this feature however, is very difficult to use if you are a baby or a toddler, as you really have to squeeze hard, so, my son has yet to master this part of the toy. Pup Squeaks paws are all different colours and textures, some are crinkly, others smooth, this helps to develop your childs sense of texture and learn colours, there is also a rattle inside one of the paws, that is soft on the ear. Attached to Pup Squeak is black and white bone made of cotton material, this also rattles. Pups squeaks ears are made of shiny, crinkly material, that crunch when played with.
On the top of his head is a plastic link that you can use to attach the toy to the side of a cot or pushchair and it is easy to use and is secure.
Pup Squeak is designed to stimulate your childs senses and develop their logic, I think that it also improves dexterity when trying to touch individual parts of the toy.
My son has enjoyed playing with Pup Squeak, I think the fact that he barks is a great feature and it has also encouraged my son to make dog noises and associate that with other dogs that he sees. It is a toy that has been played with for around 18 months, so, in my experience it has had a long lifespan.
What I do like about the toy is that you can hook it onto things so it does not get lost if you are out and about and also if hooked onto a car seat it stays put whilst you are driving.
Overall I would recommend Pup Squeal to others as he is great to look at, easy to clean and helps learning. I give it 4 stars, only because the squeak mechanism in the body is difficult for small children to use.
Back in 2010 we went on holiday to Centre Parcs. Having the two kids at the time was hard seeing as my son was only a few months old yet needed entertaining while we were away. And baby brain mummy forgot to pick up toys for our 4 month old son. SO rushing to the onsite shop hoping there would be something that would entertain him while we do walks, eat and have a holiday.
We came across this Lamaze dog; I have always been a fan of the Lamaze toys as they are fun colourful toy that children love.
This lovely Lamaze doggy also has the added extra of that it makes dog noises when you press the nose down. Our one the button has got further and further away from the nose the more that is has been pressed. It is now located in the centre of the dog head. But 2 years down the line it's still working and in excellent condition.
The dog is made up of soft materials which are bright and very stimulating to children. Eye catching and will entertain children for a good space of time.
The ears are large and easy to grab. They have a good crinkle noise to them as you grab them.
The little doggy wouldn't be without his bone witch is attached to his right hand. This is great for children to grab and pull on.
The dog is made up of bright eye catching fabrics and different fabrics. These include valour a silky material and cotton.
Yeah paw has a print on which I think is very cute.
Out happy little doggy also has a hook on the top. This is very easy to use and attach to the pushchair, car seat or even crib.
This toy is not machined washable and I wouldn't risk it either, but it is easy to brush down and wash with a damp cloth.
This cost us around the £15 mark but being from a holiday shop they seemed to bump there price up a lot. But I have done some research and you can pick this up for under £12 from mainly leading toy store, amazon and even local supermarkets.
Freddie loved to play with this doggy as they say a dog is man's best friend and this one certainly was. He is now two and out grown this toy. But mummy had kept is as her has become part of the family.
Overall a great eye catching and stimulating children's toy. Well done Lamaze another amazing baby/children's toy.
When my nephew was born he was fortunate to be spoilt rotten by family and friends and I had never heard of the Lamze range before, but he is now 9 months and there are a wide range of the Lamaze toys around the house. Lamaze is a great brand that offers a wide range of toys to help baby grow and develop.
One of the first Lamaze toys that he was given was a play and grow pupsqueak, he is a cute bright green and yellow puppy with multi-coloured arms, legs and ears. He is a really cute looking toy for babies and young children to play with. Pupsqueak is about 20 centimeters tall and around 15 centimetres wide.
When you press Pupsqueaks nose he barks and as baby plays with him he also squeaks, crackles and rattles. Pupsqueak also has a range of different textures and feels so that baby can get used to different things.
Pupsqueaks ears rustle, one arm is soft while the other has a rattle in, one of his legs is soft while the other has a bell in and his bone has a rustle noise too.
The Puppy has a plastic link coming from his head which is great when you are out and about shopping as you can attach the puppy to the pushchair, still enabling your child to be amused and play with their toy without you having the extra chore of looking regularly to make sure that the baby has not dropped it on the floor. This is also great as you do not want your babys toy dropping onto the floor and picking up germs and getting dirty.
The only disadvantage to this toy is that due to the fact that the toys barks and has electronics in it, you cannot clean the toy by putting it into the washing machine, you can only wipe it clean with a damp cloth, which is not good if you baby covers it in food or sick.
Overall pupsqueak has been chewed and played with for many months and he still looks in great condition. This present was given to him at birth and as he grows he still has hours of fun playing with Pupsqueak.
I have been looking around and Pupsqueak varies in price, but he can be purchased for well under £10.00.
