Yes it is another Lamaze toy review - I seem to be writing absolutely loads of them lately but I promise this is the very last one...until Christmas anyway LOL. Anyway this is the latest toy from this range that Alfie has been bought to add to his ever growing collection and I think this may have just pipped the octopus toy to the post and become his favourite as its certainly the one he goes for the most at the moment. My mom bought Alfie this toy a few weeks ago and she has been going on at me ever since to review it so I thought Id finally get around to it today just to keep her quiet. :)
Lamaze is a brand that make baby toys that are not only fun but also educational as they will teach your child really important skills that they will need in life eg. sensory development. All their toys I think are different animals that come in a wide range of shapes and colours and believe me if Alfie is anything to go by a child will love ANY toy from this range as they capture a babies attention immediately and shockingly manage to keep their attention for ages.
Sir-Prance-A-Lot in case you hadn't guessed is a very colourful and brightly patterned horse who has a little knight in shining armour sitting atop his back. As with all the Lamaze toys Sir-Prance-A-Lot is very bright in colour and has loads of different patterns all over his face, body and feet. There is a rattle inside his head, his feet all make crinkle noises. the little knight has a squeaker inside it and there are two clanking rings hanging out the back of him. So basically this horse has everything noises, colours, different textures which even though are very fun for a baby are also educational as well - not that Alfie realises this he just likes to chew on the rings rather than make them clack together but whatever makes him happy! This toy is actually suitable for babies right from newborn up until at least 1 year old - most of the Lamaze toys are suitable for older children than that so I cant understand why this one isn't as it is very similar to the other toys and I don't think Alfie will grow out of this one for ages yet.
This definitely caught 5 month old Alfie's attention as soon as he saw it and now when you put him on his play mat this is the first toy he goes for so believe me I think any child will adore this and if it is helping them learn at the same time that it a great added bonus in my opinion. Obviously the little squeaking knight bit may be a bit more suitable for older children as when they are very young they wont have the force needed to push it down so you might have to do that for them but that's the only slightly negative comment I have everything else is fabulous.
Like all Lamaze toys this has a large clip at the top which means in can be transported pretty much anywhere you like play mat, car seat, high chair, pram, cot ETC my mom always takes this one when she out in the car as Alfie plays with it for a bit and then falls asleep with it so it gives her peace and quiet for a few minutes at least.
I highly recommend this to everyone with children up until about 2-3 I would say because I think it will capture older children's attention as well down to the bright colour and patterns. Alfie certainly loves his one and I bet that most if not all babies would as well so highly recommended. An educational toy that's fun as well.
This cost around £10 from amazon and that includes P&P.
