The Leapfrog Hug and Learn Animal Globe is a babies first globe, suitable for children aged 6 months and above.

The globe is roughly eight inches in diameter and is made of a wipe clean material. The globe cannot be washed in the washing machine but comes up brilliantly with a wipe over with a damp cloth. It is highly padded and this makes it great for babies as they do tend to bash themselves over the head or in the face with toys!

The globe is brightly coloured and attractive. The globe is printed (as you would expect!) with a basic example of the world's globe. The different continents are labelled and two examples of animals from that continent are printed on. Where the continents name is printed there is a button (set in the padding) which baby is meant to press. Once the button is pressed a little song about that continent is sung, describing the animals and the colours of the animals. For example for Europe there is a red fox and a white mountain goat. The globe also plays music without the buttons being pressed if it is rolled. It makes it very interesting for baby and encourages crawling.

The globe is battery operated and the batteries last a long time. These are put in, in the bottom of the globe, underneath a velcro flap.

I like this globe as it helps baby learn about the world. The music helps to stimulate babies to speak and the globe helps baby to crawl (if it is rolled away from them).
