Leap Frog Roll & Rhyme Learning Lion
So many people buy you things when you have a baby it is not surprising that so many people are popping out kids left right and centre. My partner works as a restaurant manager for a very large hotel and he often gets guests coming back year after year. Because he has been there fore so many years he has really gotten to know quite a few couple that come away on a regular basis. One couple who are not one of the ones that he knows especially well were really nice and bought little baby Jack this roll & rhyme Learning Lion to play with.
Not only does Jack love it but I do too! I am singing the song all the time now, as it is just too damn catchy! I looked up this particular toy again on Amazon and found it to be such a reasonable price I couldn’t believe it! For just under ten pounds you are getting hours of pleasure! (Well nearly).
What you get when you buy this product is a medium sized yellow lion with a velvety main of hair. It is not the best looking creature but it is bright and has a cheery smile. On the stomach of the lion is where you will find a plastic spinning section that lights up and has an option of two different pictures. Once the spinning sectioned has been moved the lion will automatically sing one of its catchy songs.
I usually keep this on Jacks changing mat so that he has something to take his attention away from the fact I am taking off his warm but dirty nappy and replacing it with a cold clean one! He doesn’t mind one bit though as his full attention is on this Learning Lion with the lights and the wonderfully catchy tunes that his mummy is singing along to.
The two pictures that are on the spinning section of the lion’s tummy are one showing a rainbow, tree, smiling sun and flowers. The second picture shows a moon and the lion curly up ready for sleep. Of course when you spin it you can never tell which picture or song it is going to land on so sometimes in the middle of the day I’ll be singing along with the night time tune and Jack will be staring at a picture of a lion asleep.
For either of the pictures there are a few songs that go with that particular picture. The daytime picture of the sun always starts with the song “I am a lion I roar all day, I bounce up and down that’s how I play. Reach up high, roar. Reach down low, Roar. I am a lion I roar all day” It’s so catchy you will be singing it all day. It then goes on to sing about different colours…”Lets look for colours …what do you see. If you see yellow roar with me…Yellow sun, roar!”
The nigh time picture has the song…” Even lions get sleep when its time for bed I’ll stay cosy and warm with my mane round my head. Good night. Sleep tight. Now its time for bed grrrrrrr.” Then after that has played it will sing “The stars are out are friends are near…who do you hear…(queue bird sounds) Bird…Goodnight sleep tight.”
All in all this Learning Lion is great for kids and big kids alike. It is great for learning colours and animals. The music is catchy. The price is reasonable. A perfect gift for any child.
10/10 for Leap frog learning Lion.
Summary: a great toy
