“ Brand: ELC / Type: Baby Rattles „
My little boy was bought this as a gift when he was about 6 months old by a family friend and although the toy suggests for ages 6 months and up he couldn't hold onto it as its rather heavy so i would recommend more to age 9-12 months rather than the 6 months the toy states.
Its a good little toy but my son soon lost interest in it but enjoyed the lights on the puppy's nose. The feet also bang together when shaken but this isn't something my 6 month old managed to do as it was quite stiff. The ears are made from fabric which soon become chewed and a little horrible but because it takes batteries it can't be washed so that's a downside but nothing a damp cloth couldn't sort out.
Its quite large in size and bigger than most baby rattles, i think that's why my son struggled with it and lost interested quickly but if played with, with an adult he got more fun out of it. For the few months the toy was played with it stayed in once piece and took a few tumbles from the high chair but the paint was pretty easily scratched and has become a little chipped in places.
There's quite a lot to do on the toy, when you press the nose it lights up and also plays a (slightly annoying) tune, the fabric ears are good for different textures, there are beads in the handle which make noise when shaken and last but not least the feet also bang together when shaken which was a little different to most baby rattles.
All in all there isn't much play value in the toy and my little boy quickly become bored but its nice, colourful, bright and cheerful but not the best of toys for a 6 month old, there is better out there.
