“ Brand: Mamas & Papas / Type: Rocking Horse / Type: Rocking Horses „
When we decorated our nursery room nearly four years ago now, we decided to decorate it with the Zeddy and Parsnip theme from Mamas and Papas. Zeddy is a zebra, although he looks more like a horse to me and Parsnip is a rabbit. The colours were yellow and quite neutral which we wanted when we first decorated as we did not know whether we were having a boy or a girl.
One of the matching items/decorations we got was this gorgeous Zeddy rocking horse. It was my husband who actually fell in love with it and I think we paid in the £100 region which was quite expensive but two kids later we are still using it and getting a lot of fun out of it so it has been a really good purchase.
The rocking horse/zebra is fairly small and low to the ground, it is nowhere as near as big as an actual rocking horse but the nice thing about it being low to the ground is that my kids can get on and off it themselves which is handy for them. It also means if they happen to accidentally fall off its not too far down to the ground.
Zeddy is just like a soft toy and sits upon a wooden rocking set of rails. These rails are curved which allows the toy to rock back and forth. Zeddy's back is quite flat so my kids can sit on him quite easily although there is no seat per say but he is easy to sit on as he is quite wide. There is no harness on this rocking horse/zebra so it could be quite easy for very small children to fall off. I know when my kids were very young we would hold them on this and rock them back and forth ourselves but now that my son is 18 months old he does not fall off and finds this very easy to rock back and forth himself.
Zeddy has lots of fun little parts to him that makes him way more than just a rocking horse. There is a rattle on his tail and also on his right hand ear as you look at him. On his left hand ear as you look at him there is a button to press which plays the rock a bye baby song. THis button still works after three and a bit years and has been pressed constantly at times. My daughter would rock on this in the mornings when she would wake up and loved to press the ear so whenever we heard this song we knew she was awake and ready to play! Zeddy also has squishy sweet wrapper fabric in his feet that makes a fun noise.
On each side of Zeddy there are round wooden handles to hold onto which makes it easy for my little boy to rock back and forth just by gripping these. There are also wooden foot rests either side for a child to rest their feet on and my son always looks quite comfortable with his feet on these.
All in all this is a lovely nursery rocking horse and one that matches with the Zeddy and Parsnip theme well.
