We bought these Bruin Soft Cubes when our daughter was 4.5 months old. I thought that she was supposed to like them because they looked so cute, soft, each of them made a jingly sound when moved. They are very light and well made so looked perfectly safe for a baby to play.
But our girl actually wasn't interested in them at all. I was so disappointed though at the same time I realized that she was too small and didn't know what to do with those cubes, couldn't even grip them. So I really don't see any point in writing that these Soft Cubes are suitable for babies from birth... And You know why? Because I started thinking that something was wrong with our daughter, I was so worried that she didn't pay any attention at those colourful, jingly cubes...
Actually there was no point to worry because our little girl is fine! I just would say that this toy is suitable for about 5-6 month old babies. When she was 5-5.5 months old she started playing with these Bruin Soft Cubes. She was so interesting in touching them and feeling those different materials, shaked them and listened to jingling, looked at all those colourful designs. She smiled a lot if we were making to rattle those cubes but that didn't last long... She got bored and now these cubes don't get any of her attention.... I tried to hide them for a week or so (usually it helps - she forgets a toy and after a while she discovers it again) but nothing has changed... And I don't think she'll be attracted to these Soft Cubes later...
Now even if she picks a cube, looks at it, rattles and throws on the floor - that's it. All her discovering and exploring finished!
Though there are many toys that she plays every day (some need to be hidden for a while) - these Bruin Soft Cubes haven't become her favourite.... I liked them at the shop but You never know what a baby is gonna to like!
Well I really can't recommend Bruin Soft Cubes. They look great and entertaining but there are much better toys to buy. We paid £10 for these cubes and now they are put in a box because nobody wants to play with them.
What can I say... if colours were brighter maybe our girl would have been more attracted? Because colours are light and soft now. But who knows if it could change anything or not...
Thanks for reading!
