Advantages: Easy to clutch, inexpensive toy
Disadvantages: Not multicoloured like the original oball
We bought this toy for my son after reading that it had won the best newborn toy at the mother and baby awards. I looked it up and saw that it was relatively inexpensive so decided to buy one. I got mine from crazee thingz store on ebay and it arrived the next day.
The rattle comes in 4 colours, blue, green, orange and pink. We have the green one and my 4 month old son just loves it. He had just mastered holding onto things when we got it so it is really easy for his little hands to clutch onto it and make the beads shake. This toy really aids their development and I can see him concentrating as he grabs hold and shakes it.
The ball is really soft so they can't hurt themselves but my little one does like to stick him tongue in the ball but I guess that is all part of their development. I have even put it in the steriliser every so often as he does tend to put it up to his mouth.
The ball costs around £6 but will give your baby hours of fun. My little one love watching it as I rattle it and move it about, his eyes are glued to it.
The original oball is just the plastic ball without the beads in, however the oball can be multicoloured whereas the rattles are single colours and it would be nice to have this option.
This is one of the simplest yet best toys we have for him and it is well designed for young babies.
Summary: Excellent toy for young babies who can grasp hold of things.
