This toy was given to my son by my sister who had used it with her children, so it was about 10 years old when we got it, still in great condition though, it currently retails on Amazon for £14.99 (July 2012). The toy is made of non-toxic rubberwood and helps develop shape, colour and number recognition and hand-eye coordination and is suitable from ages 3 and upwards. The toy consists of a set of four colourful geometric shapes which can be stacked together on the sturdy 10-peg wooden board. Your child can stack the pieces according to the number of holes in the middle of each shape. They be able to will learn to recognize shapes, colours and develop sorting and counting abilities. The pieces are easy-to-grasp with four different shapes for separate activities such as colour recognition, sorting and learning about individual shapes. The different shapes include a square, triangle, circle and rectangle. The puzzle is not very big at 16 x 16 x 5.8 cm. It is however, very well made and easy to hold. My son is two and he enjoys playing with the puzzle and he can recognise the shapes and colours, but as the pegs to but the shapes on are so close together he tends to get them all muddled up rather than neatly placed on the appropriate peg, this however, does not phase him, I would suggest that for younger children you need to help with completing the puzzle. Overall I would recommend this puzzle to others as it very educational, is well made and lovely to look at, it is a welcome change to play with wooden toys sometimes rather than noisy plastic ones that children seem to gravitate towards.
