A cute toy that has amused my son

Last Christmas me and my Husband bought our Son Jayden a few smaller toys to go with his main presents, one of which was the Playskool Poppin Park Kickin Giraffe.  We thought the design of this toy was cute and although he was not walking at Christmas he could crawl and this toy would be ideal to help encourage him to develop his crawling and also learn to walk once he started to attempt it.

      Packaging
The Playskool Poppin Park Kickin Giraffe came attached to a large card which had the Playskool logo on it and also the name of the product.  The toy was attached to the card but not enclosed at all so you can see the whole thing.  There is a small amount of product information on the back of the packaging which tells you about the toy.

      The Toy
The Playskool Poppin Park Kickin Giraffe is basically a green plastic base and background with moulding on it designed to look like grass and trees.  Attached to the base is a bright yellow plastic giraffe, this has orange spots on it and a red mane, the contrasting colours make it eye catching for children.

Next to the giraffe is a shoot, this is made to look like a monkey with the shoot being held by the monkeys arms.  The Poppin Park Kickin Giraffe comes with 2 plastic balls, one is red the other is purple, these balls sit inside the shoot, you then press the giraffes head down and one ball is released from the shoot at the feet of the giraffe, as you press the giraffes head its feet kick outwards which in turn them kicks the ball across the floor, the same process can then be repeated with the second ball.

The whole thing measures around 6 inches high and approximately 5 inches wide so the toy is quite small and not bulky at all, it is the perfect size for little hands to hold and carry around.  The whole thing is made from a tough and durable plastic which will withstand the rough play that kids toys can sometimes get, there are no small parts that can break off.

      Development
Although to your child this toy will just seem like something fun to play with it will also help with their development.  By playing with the Poppin Park Kickin Giraffe your child will learn how their actions can cause a certain effect, for example by pressing the giraffes head the ball is kicked across the floor.  Also by chasing the ball you child will develop their muscles, build their strength and help improve their movement whether that be crawling or walking.

      Price and Availability
The Playskool Poppin Park Kickin Giraffe can be purchased from a range of places including, Toys R Us, Amazon and we purchased ours from Tesco.  The toy is sold for between £5.00 and £10.00 depending on where you purchase it from.  I personally feel £5.00 is a fair price for this toy, although £10.00 is a little over priced for this, we paid around £6.00 for ours from Tesco and again I feel this is a reasonable price for this toy.

      My Opinion
Jayden has had his Playskool Poppin Park Kickin Giraffe since last Christmas and he has had a lot of use out of it, when we first bought it for him he couldn't quite work out how the balls were released but would go after them, now he is a bit older he can work the toy fully himself and loves pressed the giraffes head to make the balls roll across the floor, he will then chase after them and repeat the process.

The toy is very well made, it is strong and durable and in my opinion worth the money, although your do need to shop around a little to get the best price as some places do over price it a little.  This toy is suitable for children ages 9 months plus and is ideal for both boys and girls, I would definitely recommend this toy.
