      Lovely gift

I bought this Jemima a few months ago now. I bought it soon after my sister found out she was expecting a girl. Money is extremely tight for me at the moment but I wanted to get the baby something that she might keep as she grows up. I love the Beatrix Potter books and all the merchandise that goes with them so when I saw this on offer on Amazon I snapped it up. I paid around £5 or £6 for it and it can easily be found for the same sort of price. It is made by Rainbow Designs and I imagine it can be found in gift shops aswell as online.

Jemima arrived wrapped in a clear bag and I was really impressed with her. She is a bean toy and therefore is relatively small but I was really happy with the size. She is about 15cm tall and 10cm wide. She has a soft velvet like feel to her and she is very pretty. She looks very much like the original Jemima in the books and I love the pastel colours used, it looks very nice and is perfect for baby!

I gave this to Freya when she was less than 12 hours old. Of course she wasn't jumping for joy thanking me but my sister and her partner were both really pleased with the gift and said it was nice as it might be something she would keep as she was growing up. Since then, Jemima has been in Freya's hospital crib and now she stays in Freya's moses basket most of the time. My sister likes her and often uses her to try and soothe Freya or to keep her occupied. Freya is only 2 weeks old so we cant really ask her opinion but she does seem to like it, she doesn't cry when its nearby or anything.

The toy has remained pure brilliant white and it still looks as new but of course Freya isn't grabbing it and chewing it yet! However when she does it can be hand washed I believe so we should be able to freshen it up for her.

I really like this Jemima and I would definitely buy another one. It is a perfect gift for a new baby and I really like the traditional feel to the toy. It is reasonably priced and I hope it is something Freya will keep hold of for some time.
