Every babies favourite rattle I'm sure!

As some of you will know, I am waiting for the birth of my first Grandchild. With not knowing whether it is a boy or girl I didn't want to go down the road of buying lots of cream and biege clothes, so I have put clothes on hold until I know for sure. Now when I go to visit for the first time I don't want to go empty handed so I have been searching the web to find something suitable.

After spending many hours hunting around the different websites, I discovered this baby rattle on Amazon. Now I have never heard of this story before "Guess How Much I Love You" which was written 15 years ago and is classed as a childrens classic now. It is based on a little and much bigger Nutbrown hares challenging each other to how much they love each other more.

Well the title really caught my eye and the lovely furry brown and white rattle looked really sweet in the picture. It is what they discribe as a loop rattle, which I take means that the handle is a complete loop with the words "Guess How Much I Love You" embroidered in a light blue cotton with what looks like 2 tiny yellow butterflies embroidered above the words. with two large white hands and two very big ears the rest of the rattle is in a light brown colour which is very soft to the touch and when shaken the rattle makes a little noise ( nothing to loud that would frighten a baby!). It does say that it is easy for a baby to hold so we will have to see about one!.

So waiting for this to arrive ( which it did next day!) when it did I couldn't wait to open my parcel, well I will have to say that on first seeing it I was a bit disappointed as I expected it to come in some form of bubble pack or at least in a nice box as it wasn't that cheap ( I really don't know what a rattle costs these days!) at £5.99. All I could see was a Hare that was in a plastic bag that had been wrapped around it twice and sealed. All it's ears and hands had been squashed!.

Since taking it out of the bag and having a good look at it, this is a lovely rattle and is very well made, so I feel quite safe in giving it to my grandchild. It comes with a tag attached and on the inside it has a part which says "Given to someone who is special" where you can write your own little message which is nice.

This rattle can be machine washed on a gentle cycle, in cold water and tumble dryed on a low heat.

The author of this lovely story is Sam McBratney and with the Amazon site they do tend to try and get you to buy more which worked with me this time I must admit!.

I also purchased the story of "Guess How Much I Love You" in the Board Book version so when the baby is old enough they will be able to have a good chew on this one and I also purchased another book which I will be doing a review on next.

So I will be able to put these into a gift box together which I think will make a lovely present for either girl or boy ( then when I know, I can go buying clothes and toys for the correct sex!). So if you are looking for a gift set for a new baby then I would suggest that you have a look at this on Amazon as it makes a nice present both for baby and parents to share!.

I'd just like to point out that on the website there are 2 to choose from with one being £3.98 and mine being £5.99. I chose the dearer one as I really wasn't sure if it was that same quality and that I have free delivery anyway from Amazon ( being I'm fairly new to internet shopping I like to stay with the companies I know!).
