      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Lovely choice of present, but too expensive to buy for myself

My daughter got a lot of lovely presents for her first birthday and this pull-along Peter Rabbit was one of them.

      ---About the product:
The Peter Rabbit pull-along toy is a brown soft rabbit in the shape of Peter Rabbit with a blue felt coat on. He is attached by his paws at the front and back to pieces of wood which have wheels on them so he can be moved across the floor. There is a small piece of cord attached round his neck for pulling him along. The paws are attached loosely on the wooden poles so when it is pulled along it can go round cornerts. Lastly he has a tag attached round his neck that says 'Naturally Bettter Peter Rabbit' and the logo. The care label says it uses 100% cotton fabrics with recycled polyester filling and can be surface cleaned only. He is about 20 cm long and about 15 cm high (depending on whether his ears are standing up or not!).

      ---Our experiences:
My daughter started walking at 10 months and then received this when she was 1, but was not really intersted in it. I got it out on several occassions but she didn't bother with it at all. At about 18 months, I got it out for her again and suddenly this toy was great fun! The chord was too short which I assume is a safety feature so I attached a longer ribbon round the rabbits neck so that she could stand up and pull it along and thus began great games of pulling the bunny round and round the house. She likes to get me to pull it round the house and she'll chase the rabbit which she find highly amusing and will happily play that until I'm worn out.

The rabbit is nice and soft so can be cuddled up to when it has been played with. It has been played with lots in the past few months and my daughter still loves it as she comes up to her 2nd birthday. It is still in very good condition and I think it will continue to be well loved by her for a while to come. One issue with him is that if she pulls him too fast round the corner, he does fall over. She generally doesn't notice as he is so light that she just carries on pulling him round the house on his back until I turn him back over again.

      ---And finally:
The Rainbow Designs Peter Rabbit can be bought online for £16.95 from www.teddybearfriends.co.uk. I think this is very expensive for a simple pull-along toy but I think it would be perfect as a present for a little one. I think it is best suited for children who are learning to walk and will enjoy pulling a toy behind them. The string to pull it along will need replacing if you want it to be effective as a pull-along toy, but otherwise it is still a lovely looking classic toy.
