Advantages: Soft, bright and colourful

Disadvantages: Velcro hooks too short!

I bought this clip on pram book from John Lewis for £12.95. I had a voucher, and had I not, I wouldn't really of bought this book, but it was one of the only things I though was suitable to buy for my 6 month old with it. It is not something I would usually have bought, but this is actually now one of my babies favourite toys!

This is a double sided soft material book, no writing on it, just pictures. On one side there are black and white characters and patterns, with blue backgrounds. On the other side and really bold bright colours, yellows, blues, greens, oranges, reds. The black and white pictures are aimed at babies from birth to 3 months as it is known that babies respond more to black and white pictures. My son was fascinated by these pictures when I got it for him at around 10 weeks, he would look at it but not really touch it. Now at 6 months he just wants to chew this book all the time!

The colourful pictures always attract his attention and is great for tummy time. He will also just sit in his bouncer with this book and just explore all the different textures on it. There is a mirror on the black and white side. On the more colourful side the blue elephant has ears that make crinkling noises which my baby loves, and also the leaf is crinkly too.

This book doesn't open like a normal book that you would read it just stretches out into one long line of pictures. This comes with some clips to clip the book on things like your pram or your cot. It isn't suitable for clipping on a pram unless you are still using a carry cot, so it can go round the top, for your baby to look at whilst out and about. It doesn't fit well on my stroller, I can clip it to the hood, but I like the hood down most of the time otherwise it gets dark in there for my baby. If I put the hood half way up he can see it but only when the pram is in the lying down position, so I don't really tend to use it much on the pram.

It clips easily on a cot, or moses basket. I quite often put in on the side of the cot if my baby is lying in there, he loves lying there watching his mobile, and when I put this on the side, it does fascinate him too as well as the mobile, he loves reaching out for it, and it is encouraging him to roll onto his side and eventually to roll over! This book comes with yellow plastic hooks, or velcro hooks which are attached to the book, but these are very short when you are trying to attach it to your cot, it would be better if they were just a bit longer, as my baby can pull this down off the cot as it only velcros just at the tips as it is too short!

This is nice and soft for your baby to chew on if they are teething, it is so lightweight, and mine has been through the wash and comes out perfectly fine. It is so bright and colourful, keeps my baby amused often, and I am glad I bought it, if you shop around you can get it for around £10 on places like Amazon, instead of £12.95 in John Lewis. I highly recommend for all babies, boy or girl, it is suitable for either!

Summary: Excellent toy for baby to look at and chew!
