“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Wooden Building Blocks / Quantity: 100 / Age: 2 Years+ / Type: Creative Toys „
I purchased these building bricks sometime back for a member of my family and was told that they went down very well and was always being played with. So being a bit old fashioned when it comes to childrens toys ( I want to sit down on the floor and play with my grandchildren not plonk them in front of a tele or dvd!) I remembered these when I went into Tesco's just before Xmas.
I grabbed a box ready for my grandson ( being that he was only nine months old, I thought that these may be a bit too soon to give to him!). Over Christmas when he was over I couldn't hold back the blocks anymore and got them of the top of the wardrobe where they being kept until his 1st birthday in March.
His face lit up when I put the round cardboard tub in front of him and took of the lid. Inside there are 100 building blocks of all different colours and sizes ( 50 are coloured/ 50 are natural wood), some have pictures of animals on ( this is around 10 blocks as each tub varies). I found myself removing the smaller blocks out ( in this tub they were the green triangle ones) until he was older as these are on the smaller side and could be put right into the mouth. As he puts just about anything in his gob it was better to be safe than sorry!.
I'm pleased to say that he really loves these and enjoy's it when I build a tower so that he can crawl over and knock it down. These building blocks are really an old fashioned toy, but children just love them and when he gets a bit older he can learn to count the different blocks and learn the colours as well.
In this box you will get an assortment of different colours and shape blocks, from square, triangle, oblong, barrels and arches. So an assortment of buildings can be made from houses to bridges ect... also you can create your own little animal sanctury.
I'm glad I gave then to him now so that he can get even longer pleasure from them. The box does state that these are for 2 years plus, but if being supervised any child of this age well be fine and happy with these.
I've since heard that when he got home he now likes to go over to his basket of toys and when his mum has tidied up all his toys, the minute her back is turned he grabs the tub and tips the whole lot out onto the floor!
These wooden building blocks are from Tesco's Little Steps range and cost me £10.00, which I think is a really good price for a toy that will last for many years and will be played with well into the childs 3rd, 4th & 5th birthday!
A well deserved 5 Dooyoo stars for an old fashioned good quality toy!
