Advantages: Quite colourful with different textures
Disadvantages: Fairly basic and easy to drop
When out shopping with my baby son recently he began to grumble and wasnt his usual happy self which I put down to the fact he was teething. Unfortunately I didn't have any teething toys with me but bought this teething toy in Boots where I happened to be shopping.
The teething toy consists of a blue plastic ring from which hangs three soft plastic fruits which your baby can chew on. Each fruit is about 4 cm large excluding the green hard plastic leaf by which they are attached to the ring. There is a strawberry, a bunch of grapes and a lemon. I am not sure why they selected a lemon as it isn't a fruit a baby would normally want to suck on. Having these three different fruits does make the toy more colourful and therefore more likely to appeal to a baby. The lemon is yellow, the strawberry red and the grapes purple.
One of the things I like about this toy is that each fruit has been given a slight different texture which again makes it more interesting for a baby. My son has no problems gripping the ring and chewi g on one of the fruits. To date he hasnt chosen a particular preference for any of the fruits.
A drawback with this toy is that we we are out and about and he is in his buggy it is fairly easy for him to drop it. It is however easy to sterilise being all plastic so i just drop it in Milton solution for a while. Of course you cant really do that when you are out. Another drawback is that it is pretty basic. We now have a small collection of teeting toys and he does prefer the ones that also chime or rattle. Having said which his absolute favourite when he can get his hands on it is my slipper!
Overall I would say that if you one get one teething toy get one that is a bit more interesting for your baby but if you just want something basic he can chew on then this does the job. At around the £3 Mark I think it is a little over priced for what it is but it did me well in an emergency.
Summary: An average teething toy
