Advantages: good toy
Disadvantages: none
. I discovered the some stacking rings for 50pwhen I went into my local charity shop to give them some old jewellery. Useful addition to the toy box at my house I thought. They were in good condition so I took them home soaked them in dettol to get rid of any germs. I don?t think Adrian is quite old enough to play with these yet but one day?. These stacking rings are brightly coloured plastic rings that are graded in size. They fit onto a vertical pole that is supported on a flat base. There are 6 rings to sort and stack. The rings are easy for a baby to pick up and hold. This is a very durable toy it should last several children- if you do not lose one of the rings! There are several manufacturers of these toys. All similar design. Stacking rings are good educational toys. Suitable for a baby of maybe 9 - 10 months upwards. They assist in developing eye hand co-ordination and are brightly coloured to stimulate the visual senses. When you play with these with your child mention the colours to help with early colour recognition and the relative sizes. The hoops are size graded the biggest one going onto the pole first, so they help the child think about size relation (early maths). These rings can also help with counting if you count them as you put them on. A child can play with these on his/her own or you can play alongside them assisting depending on your child?s developmental stage. I have one at work that some of the children play with. It is good for a blind girl we have to help her develop her sense of touch, as she can tell the size of them by the feel. Definitely a good toy to have and quite cheap even when new (not sure about the price). Thank you for reading, have fun playing with your children. Mary
