Advantages: Guaranteed laughs all round!

Disadvantages: Noisey when pressed over and over again - HAHA!

I fell in love with Elmo when I went to America in 2003, when I heard about Tickle Me Elmo TMX coming out I just had to have it, I persuaded my partner to buy our 18 month old son it for Christmas, who unlike me hated it and screamed whenever it went near him, I however found it hilarious and still do.

So Elmo begun his career on Sesame Street many many years ago, in 1970 to be precise and over time the character hasn't changed, although I didn't know Elmo was a female until last year, noone told me that!!

Tickle Me Elmo first came out in the height of a new reign for Sesame Street back in 1996, it was one of the biggest selling toys of its year, simply pushing buttons to hear Elmo giggle, couldn't get much better until.....

10 years later in 2006 Fisher Price decided to bring out a new edition Elmo and decided to call it Tickle Me Elmo TMX. It became one of the hardest toys to get for Christmas, companies had orders gallore for the £35 (approx) toy. What's so special about it you may ask, well Elmo now says more, she does more, the giggles that come from this little toy are infectous and could cheer the most horrible of people up.

Tickle Me Elmo comes in a suitcase, made of cardboard with a pop up flap that you lift to hear Elmo giggling inside, the box is lovely and a treasure to keep. Elmo stands at around 14 inches high and isn't cuddly, she's solid, you press her belly or her foot to 'tickle' her and then she prescides to bend over laughing, roll on the floor giggling away.

Even though this toy had now been out 2 years, it is still one of my favourite childrens toys, even my son has grown to love her and copies her moves now.

It comes complete with batteries which to be honest I was expecting to have to replace pretty much as soon as we bought it but they are still going strong.

Elmo is the perfect companion for old and new people.

Summary: A loving classic.

Elmo is aboy, I don't know who told you he was a girl. Elmo is even voiced by a man.
