I wanted a shape sorter for my Daughter, and at the time she was only 7 or 8 months old, and the only ones I could find were really complicated, and for ages of about 2+.

I was looking around in ELC, and I found one by Tomy. I ahve since seen them in index and argos catalouges. It is really simple!

It has 3 shapes and all of it is bright. You get 4 bright pink triangles, 4 blue squares, and 4 white balls, one of which has a smiley face on. The sorter itself is bright yellow, and has a purple top at one end, and lime green at the other. The lime green end is just bendy rubber for younger childer to be able to put the shapes in, the other has the shapes on it. None of the shapes fit through the other holes, (my friend had one that did, whats the point in that?!)

My daughter loves it, and will actually sit there and play with it! and she has not done the famous trick of putting something in the video! (touch wood!) as she has this to post things into.

I think it was about 7-8 pounds, but shop around as it may be cheeper now!
