Advantages: Very realistic looking and sounding
Disadvantages: Pricey
My two year old son is a huge Teletubbies fan. He was lucky enough to win a dance with me Laa Laa from Teletubbies magazine when they printed his colouring of Dipsy. I think Laa Laa is his favourite as he kept calling all the teletubbies Laa Laa for a long time. My sons face lit up as soon as he saw it. He couldn't wait to play with it and began using it while it was still in the box. I managed eventually to prise the box from him and remove the Teletubbie.
It comes with instructions but its fairly straight forward to understand it has two different modes
Dance Along mode: The realistic dance motion, along with the Teletubby blinking and giggling whilst dancing. Musical Statues mode: Children can join in too and play musical statues with Laa-Laa!.
These are activated by pressing the teletubbies hands. The teletubbie also makes sounds if it falls down or you press it belly.
My son has hours of fun dancing along with laa laa. It really does look and sound like the real thing. It very cute, laa laa's giggle is certainly infectious and you can't help smiling and laughing along.
You'll need a screwdriver to change the batteries which seems to be the case with just about ever toy these days. I found the batteries have lasted quite well, far better than say his tickle me Elmo which seems to eat batteries. Dance With Me Teletubby Laa-Laa was voted Hamley's Top Toy for Christmas 2008 and I can see why. Its very well made and has survived the odd fall and bump as my son is very clumsy and breaks just about everything but Laa laa still going and looks as good as new. I'm sure all little Teletubbies fan would adore this toy.
I'm not sure I would personally have bought this item for £34.99 I think its rather expensive but now we've played with and I can see how good it is I would consider it for a birthday or Christmas gift.
Summary: Great toy which will provide your child with hours of fun
