I bought this VTech baby bear sweet dreams nightlight on the advice of a friend who recently had a baby, he told me that this was great for sending their son to sleep when they had difficulty settling him.

I bought this item from Mothercare for the price of £19.99, it fastens to the side of the cot with 2 blue plastic straps that go over the top of the cot bars and fasten to the back of the unit, it also has a string tie to wrap around the bars to ensure it is secure, or it can stand alone.

It has a music note button on the front that when pressed plays lullabies and projects a light show onto the ceiling. There is a switch on the side that you can change depending on how long you want it to play for. Firstly is the demo which lasts around 10 seconds, then there is 5, 10 or 15 minutes. There is also the option of having either lullabies or nature sounds playing and also the option of whether you want the light show on or off. There is also a switch to adjust the focus of the light show that is projected on the ceiling, there is also an adjustable volume control.

There is a round section on the front of the unit that contains a teddy bear dressed in his night clothes, sitting on top of a moon! When the night light is switched on this also flashes and sways from side to side in time with the music.

The function I especially like about this is that it has a sound sensor that activates if your baby cries, playing music and making the sweet dreams bear on the moon light up and rock back and forth to calm and lull your baby back to sleep.

My son loves this and is mesmerized by it when it is playing!! We have found it works wonders to settle him down to sleep when we are struggling!! One downside is it uses up batteries very quickly, so get stocked up!!
