This was a recent gift to our daughter for her first birthday, and although it has been the second most popular toy (most popular being v-tech sort n go car), I have to say I’m not 100% sure whether I like it or not! This book is a solid plastic book with six pages to turn, showing a different nursery rhyme on each page. When the book is opened the voice says “story time”, then as you turn the pages there are arrows to press and you will either hear the tune of the nursery rhyme, or the voice will say something appropriate to the pictures. When the child closes the book it says “the end”.

Unfortunately the voice is american and perhaps this is why the toy is not particularly endearing to me. Also personally I find it a bit annoying after a while, particularly when the child keeps pressing the same button. However, they find it amusing and it has been played with a lot, so the best I can say is to test it out yourself before buying to see if it would annoy you, and if not, then your child is bound to like it so it will get a lot of use.
