Advantages: A highly interactive toy for babies and toddlers that is bright, colourful and cute !!!

Disadvantages: None at all ... this little Penguin rocks !!!

My little boy absolutely ADORES his Roly Poly Penguin !!!

It was first given to him as a gift when he was 6 months old and it very quickly became one of his favourite toys. Even though he is now 16 months old this wonderful toy is still played with on a daily basis (despite the fact that he now has many more toys that are so much more advanced).

So, what it is exactly that makes this VTech toy so popular ???

Well, I asked my little boy this very important question but he was far too busy trying to take his socks off to spare any time to help his daddy write his next dooyoo review ... so I guess I'm on my own with this one ;)

~ The VTech Roly Poly Penguin ~

Standing around 8 inches the Vtech Roly Poly Penguin is a bright, colourful and very lovable little character. His head is made from soft fabric and he has a cute and wide eyed expression which makes him an instant hit with young children. His wings are also made from fabric and make a delightful crinkling noise when scrunched.

However, it is within the plastic body where the magic of this toy is created !

Firstly, on Roly Poly Penguin's tummy there is a little yellow star ... and it is a very magical star that lights up and can be pressed to hear a number of very cute songs and gentle melodies. Secondly, Roly Poly Penguin has a little bow tie made up of his on/off switch and two red bows filled with tiny rattling beads. Finally, below Roly Poly Penguin's little yellow feet is his rounded bottom which allows him to rock backwards, forwards and sideways when pushed.

The combination of all these features is a toy for babies and toddlers that is both highly interactive and extremely stimulating. It is also a toy that not only looks great but sounds great too and every time I hear Roly Poly Penguin sing

"NOW LET'S SEE WHAT WE CAN EXPLORE
NUMBERS, SOUNDS AND SO MUCH MORE"

I know that my little boy has just pressed his bow tie and will spend the next half an hour or engrossed in interactive play for which he will be rewarded with a number of familiar sing-a-long songs and nursery rhymes, melodies and sweet little phrases such as "Watch Me Wobble" !!!

~ Summary ~

VTech produce some very impressive educational toys for young children but this little fella has to be one of the most impressive I have seen ... the simplicity of the design, the sheer level of interaction it creates and the overall cuteness factor create a winning formula for young inquisitive minds. It retails for arond £10 and can be purchased from stores such as Mothercare or Toys 'R' Us ... it may seem a little expensive but believe me it's 'Weeble' like defiance to keep on wobbling and never fall over combined with it's sweet sounding voice, lively songs and gentle melodies make this a toy that can provide hours of interactive learning and fun.

I know that my son absolutely adores Roly Poly Penguin ... if you decide to buy one for your little one then I am more than sure that they will do too !!!
