VTech Stack and Pull Elephant
Advantages: Bright colours, lights up, good range of tunes
My eldest daughter recieved this elephant for her first birthday, the toy came from Asda and it cost about £10 at the time although this was nearly 4 years ago now and having looked it up it seemed the price has risen somewhat currently selling at £15 on Amazon.
The toy is a bright red car as the base with a sliding switch on it for turning it on and off, from the bottom of the car there is a short pull cord for your child to pull it along behind them although the cord isn;t very long and the reg number is VTECH. There are three rings which all stack on top of the car and then there is a bright yeelow elephants head with a soft trunk. The rings are made of hard plastic and are green, red and yellow in colour, the red and the green rings have two cylinders sticking out from the ring as if they are the elephants legs. This is a bright colourful toy so great for grabbing your childs attention but to me as an adult it is a very strange looking toy, who has ever seen a elephant sat on a car on it's bum with all four legs pointing forwards!
The toy has a few different play aspects to it, when you pull the car along the car plays a wide number of different tunes and I was quite impressed by this as a lot of toys i find play the same couple of toys over and over but this one has a good number so you don't go demented listening to it. The toy is also a stacker toy obviously and when you place the rings onto the toy the toy will count the rings back on and tell your child the colour of the ring which is good and the rings will fit on in any order. Whilst the toy is making any sort of noise there are flashing lights that come from the main stacker but shine through the rings as for all these are coloured they are see through. Finally the elephant has soft ears and a trunk and these parts are a rustly fabric so when your child grabs them and twists them they make a noise.
My daughter really liked this toy although only for a couple of months and I think she would have got more play from it if she had been a little younger when she got it. My daughter liked to drag the toy around although she had to do this on her knees the cord wasn't long enough if she stood up and she also liked dancing to the tunes. The toy takes 2 x AA batteries but we never had to change them in the couple of months my daughter played with the toy although the toy has an automatic shutoff when it hasn't been played with for a few minutes so this helps the battery life. The toy helps introduce numbers and colours and I think a child is never too young to begin learning these things and of course they learn a lot through play, this is an good adaption on the usual stacker toy and very much recommended.
Summary: Looks rather strange
