What is Baby Born?
Baby born is a doll made by Zapf Creation and comes in many different versions. My daughter has the original white Dolls and the ethnic doll, she liked the first one so much she wanted another one. When i brought the dolls i got them as a package which included The doll dressed in a baby grow, Dummy, potty, Nappy,bottle, bowl and spoon and some food for the doll, yes you can feed them.

The dolls are approx 43 cm and you can feed them (Only use Baby born food), You can change them as the food does go through the doll and they wet themselves, they Cry real tears too. She also Squeals a little by squeezing her arm. This doll does not need batteries to work which is ideal.

At the time of buying these dolls they cost approx £29.99 but are now a lot cheaper in Argos they sell for £19.99. I have found this an excellent buy as my daughter has played with these none stop along with all her baby born accessories which she has. These dolls are very strong ideal for children who do get a little rough sometimes.

This doll helps you teach a child how to be caring and loving and how to respect and treat babies but always make sure their aware that dolls and babies are totally different. As some children have been known to treat a baby as a doll and hurt it in the process its up to us as parents to install this information in our children. I do this by always referring to a a doll as a doll and a baby as a baby, if you get what i mean. Try not to say are you looking after the baby today? Say doll instead. ( i work in a nursery and we encourage this method, in the learning process).

These dolls are ideal for children 3 years plus, my daughter is now 8 years old and still plays with them, for how much longer i don't know as she's getting into fashion and music now, so we will see how it goes, they all have to grow up sometimes.

My daughter also has baby Annabel which she loves as this actually makes sounds and is more life like but these dolls are better for the adults as they don't drive you crazy with the none stop noise.

My advice regarding the feeding of the baby using the play food, try and avoid this because it can get messy and is very difficult to get right. My daughter doesn't bother with this and just feeds her water instead. If you do feed her also make sure you was her through with water afterwards so bits are not left behind as this could clog up the doll.
