Disadvantages: Not one thing I can think of
The one thing I always have in my cupboard is Jif lemon juice. I never go for a cheaper alternative because with Jif I know that I'll get good quality each and every time I use it and after-all, all it really contains is concentrated lemon juice and some preservative in it and no added seasoning, sweeteners or sugars or owt. It is what it is and that's lemon in liquid form basically!
Well you can buy it in a green glass bottle of in the squeezy lemon shaped mould form (which was designed by a bloke in a factory in Leicester by all accounts lol) and this is the one I always buy simply cos i like it to look at lol.
So mine in the bright yellow plastic lemon which actually has the feel of a real lemon due to the texture of it and down the side of it in raised letters I'm told that it is Jif Real Lemon Juice and the best before date is clearly stamped on it in black ink. To one end of it there is a flip top lid concealing a small hole and to the top and over that there is a dark green label (that appears like leaves) and on that I'm told again what it is and that it is manufactured by Coleman's, the size is stated (which in this case is 55g) and ingredients and nutritional information is stated. Really nice packaging that is easy to squeeze and informative enough.
The Lemon Juice Itself:
Runny and thin it has a cloudy but light yellow colour to it. It smells of lemons and really is tangy and citrusy to the taste. Remember this contains no added sugar so it's rather sharp but you can of course add your own sweetness to it if you desire.
Great used within baking, Chinese stir fry's, on top of pancakes whatever really as it really does add a pungent taste of lemons to things!
I like this and I have tried other versions of this type of product and to me this is simply the best!
This is widely available in all good supermarkets and I bought mine in Asda and it cost me 65p! It lasts ages too cos it's concentrated, so economical this really is!
