“ Brand: Sainsbury's / Type: Other Fruits „
In my effort to be healthier I chose to expand my fruit eating and snack on dried fruit. My dad bought me some delicious dried mango which I ate in one sitting, so I decided to buy my self some but as it was so expensive I chose the cheapest one I could find. Introducing "Sainsbury's Ready to Eat Sweetened Dried Fruits: Mango". I have to say I was disappointed.
Stupidly I didn't check and so when I thought I was just putting in sweetened mango I was actually consuming: Dried Mango (42%), Sugar, Water, Acidity Regulators (Malic Acid, Citric Acid), Preservative (Sulphur Dioxide, Potassium Sorbate). Basically this means that they had dried the mango and then re-added water which increased the weight. The sugar they had added also means that it is not as healthy as I thought, and although I have quite a sweet tooth then all the additives took away from the taste.
There wasn't as much as I thought there was going to be and would probably serve two people for an afternoon snack. Due to this reason then they are best as just a cupboard snack that you can dip into.
Ah this was the second worst aspect of the fruit. They felt like dried slugs, as they had a dried skin and then been rehydrated. When you bit into them they are like thick jelly sweets, so like the non sugar coated cola bottles.
This unfortunately the worst aspect of the fruit. It did not taste anything like mangos. The overpowering taste was like sweeteners, which I don't like at all.

Well as they were actually unhealthy, didn't taste very nice and didn't feel very nice then well even if they were 1p they wouldn't be value for money.
