Orange And Lemon Jelly Slices In Mini!!!

These are the CUTEST things ever! You know them boxes of jelly orange and lemon slices you get at Xmas? You know, massive box with about 20 tiny thin slices of citrus jellies inside..... they justify the massive box and price by fanning the sweets out to make it look like there are more in there! lol

These are mini versions of them and Silver Spoon have made them to be sprinkled on top of cakes or you can just 1 or 2 on top of a fairy cake to make them look proper summery. I brought a bag when I saw them in Sainsburys, I think they was about 99p so even if you want to buy a pack just for munching on they're not going to break the bank.

I've eaten them on their own and also used about half the pack to decorate fairy cakes I made with my sister the other day, we had used lemon flavoured icing so these fruity little jellies looked wicked on the top. The orange ones taste of orange and the yellow ones taste like lemon, not completely though and you can deffo tell they're decorations and not sweeties because they haven't got the delish citrus flavour that the big sweets have got.

They feel the same though. You've got the jelly and then that thicker piece that's supposed to be the peel, they're proper nice to eat because they FEEL so delish in your mouth. They're nice and sweet as well and that's helped by them being dusted with a tiny bit of sugar.

When we did our cakes today I used an orange and a lemon one and put them together so they was in a circle shape on top of the cake. It made the cakes look sooooooooo brill I couldn't believe it!

I think these are a wicked idea, they taste yummy and look proper nice on top of the fairy cakes. I wouldn't have ever thought they would bring these orange and lemon slices out in mini but I'm dead glad they have because all these new things Silver Spoon are bringing out are making my cakes and biscuits look mega professional.
