These Silver Balls Made My Fairy Cakes Look Wicked!

I wrote about the silver balls that Super Cook make the other day and I said they're the only ones we use... but when I come to get them out yesterday I saw they're NOT the only ones we use because at the minute we've got Silver Spoon Silver Balls! lol

They look exactly the same but the packaging is a bit better I think because these ones are in a tall plastic tub that takes up less room than the fat pots Super Cook use. You can see the silver balls through the tub so it's handy to see if I need to buy more because it bugs me when I open the Super Cook ones and see there's not many left.

The balls have got a wicked shiney colour, I used them to decorate cupcakes yesterday and they looked brill stuck to the mega thick icing. I'd done bright pink icing and the silver looked proper nice next to it, I reckon these balls would look good next to any colour icing actually because the shine of them makes them stand out.

They've got a hard texture so I don't put too many of these balls on anything, it's not that you're going to break teeth on them but I just think having loads of these balls spoils the texture of cakes and biscuits. You're deffo better off to use a few and make a nice design on the top of your biscuits and stuff because then you can enjoy the feel of biting into one of the crunchy silver balls but not have to stress about getting loads of them in every mouth full!!!

You can use these balls to make little pictures on the top of your cakes and biscuits, yesterday me and my sister used them to make smiley faces and that looked wicked. They haven't got much of a taste because they're just sugar, I like the taste of these better than the Super Cook ones because it stays sweeter for a bit longer like proper sugar. They don't change the taste of what you put them on and that's a good thing but I think it would be nice for them to bring out flavoured silver balls because that would look brill!

A 60g tub of these silver balls costs £1.59 and that's good because you don't use that many each time so they'll last for quite a long time.

Recommended... to make your cakes and biscuits look as good as possible!!!
