Quick an easy way to get started on your five a day, highly recommended!

It's not easy trying to get your five-a-day into your daily meal planning and sometimes it can be even more of a challenge to get the kids to eat their daily fruit and vegetables too.

Tesco snack packs are designed to include one portion of your recommended five-a-day and contains red/green mix apple slices and red grapes. Widely available in the chilled section in most Tesco and Tesco Express stores retailing around 50p depending on store offers.

The packaging is simply a sealed plastic bag, easy to open and something I am very passionate about, minimal packaging. Some other brands include sealed plastic puts and cardboard sleeves which is highly unnecessary, Tesco get top points for being environmentally conscious. Only the necesary information is on the packaging, product name, nutrition information, sell by and best before date and where the product was grow, in my case it was Poland and South Africa. It is a shame that the apples could not be locally sourced which seems to be a growing trend with many food items these days.

The back of the packet shows it is suitable for vegetarians, the ingredients, apple slices (75%) grapes (25%) nutrition information, storage information and the Tesco promise. If you are unhappy or disatisfied with their products you may tell them so and they will be happy to refund or replace any product.

These packs are handy for any occasion, I used them most whilst at work. I would have to head at at 6.00am so by 10am I would feel peckish, being conscious that working in an office doesn't always make it easy to get nutritious food with vending machines everywhere and fast food restaurants in close proximity of our building, I could simply put a couple of these in the fridge and grab one when I was ready. I am also one of these people that wont eat fruit unless it's cut up, this saves me the effort and time consuming preparation and the need to find a sharp knife, which can breach security measures if at your desk.

My nephew regularly has these put in his lunch box with an ice pack to keep them cold and fresher for longer. Any product that makes it easier to provide a healthy nutritious meal for your Children is definately a winner in my books.

The posibilities are almost endless, tip in a bowl with some orange juice for a quick fruit salad which children seem to love, add to porridge or cereal for a more substantial breakfast, or for a quick desssert add yoghurt or custard.

A winner in my books, the verdict - tasty fruity goodness!
