Yummy Cakes Made With This Flour!

I brought this flour from Tesco when me and my sister was making some fairy cakes the other day, I'm not loyal at all to flour and only ever buy the supermarket bags. We don't buy the cheapo bags of flour though because the flour is quite often clogged up together and also my mum said you get flour mites quicker in the cheapo flour.

This flour costs 75p for a 1.5kg bag and as soon as you open it you'll see it's quite a fine flour and the top layer of mine was mega dusty but that settled down quite quick and by the time I had weighed my 400g out the flour was fine. There wasn't many lumps or anything and even though I don't bother sieving the flour before putting it in the bowl it still stirred in easily and it wasn't a battle to get any dusty lumps mixed in properly.

The cakes came out perfect, exactly the same as if I'd used any of the other supermarket bags of self raising flour. I have also used this flour to make cookies and it was fine for that as well, better in a way than when I used Morrisons flour last time because this one deffo stirred in easier and quicker.

This flour also comes in small 500g bags and that's perfect for people who don't use flour much because it does go off after a bit and it's not always a good idea to buy big bags. It doesn't last that long in our house because someone is always cooking something nice but one thing I would say is that it would be a good idea to get a proper container to keep it in because the bags Tesco use for their flour don't close properly and that could make something else get in with the flour or cause flour mites to appear earlier.

Recommended.... cheap for such a big bag of flour and it does the same job as a bag that costs twice as much!!!
