      A great snacking treat

      Whitworths Dried Prunes.............

Now some may think that prunes are an old person's food but this is not the case because they are totally delicious and good for you too!

These 225gram packets of Whitworths Prunes were on offer in Morrison's recently at better than half price for 89pence (usual price being £1.99p). This is such a bargain as I usually only buy the snack packets which contain 30grams and are prices at 35p. There are three different sized bags available like I have said the small 30gram bag the 225gram bag or the larger 500gram bag.

Prunes are basically dried out plums and when you think of dried out you think of something that is dry and not very appealing but with these dried prunes they are soft and gooey and much nicer than tinned prunes or indeed any other prune I have ever eaten.

I have tried shops own brand prunes before, but they seem to actually be dry and far less moreish than these Whitworths ones. These ones are plump and soft and without the annoying stone in the middle which makes them easy to eat. Apart from them being wonderful to eat they are indeed good for you what with being naturally low in fat and high in fibre (keeping you regular).

A 25gram serving of these Whitworths prunes gives you only 39 calories, 0.1grams of fat and only a trace is saturated and is also counted as one of your five a day! Brilliant.

The prunes are great for snacking or indeed can be used for baking and for this there are different recipes on the back of the packaging. This is not something I have tried because I love to snack on them so much the prunes have disappeared before I have time to even think about making something with them.

They are so delicious I cannot possibly see what people would not like them. They are soft and plum with the most delicious taste that could challenge many sweets or confectionary for me. Certainly for this price and for the fact that they are good for you and low in calories and fat they are worth giving them a try.

I think it is only right that these Whitworths Prunes would get a 5 out of 5 star rating from me and an EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH RECOMMENDATION.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this review.

I do hope that it has been of some help/interest to you.
