Advantages: Get to keep your childs money safe

Disadvantages: Sometimes poor customer services

I have a childrens bond with abbey, it was set up when my son was two, the interest rate on this was and still is very good. In the years I have been with abbey I have never had any problems but I haven't got a bank account so I cannot comment on that side of things.]
The first bond's term was up and I decided to open another bond and carry it on. The one thing I will say is the branch I went to to do this was very poor on customer services and they didn't have the staff to deal with everyones problems, and they do take ages to deal with.

On the bond front, I have another savings account set up for my son and the rate of interest on that was no where near the amount on this childrens bond. And this year the rate of interest has gone up again, so I look forward to yealding the interest accumilated on that.

So my advise is if you want to invest for children isto go with abbey, the rate of interest is very high, I cannot comment on the bank account side, and the branch I went to had very poor customer serivces standards........

Summary: Abbey, a great way to save money for a childs future...........
