Following the thread of this review section, I also feel the need for a bit of a rant about Abbey.
I have been a customer of the bank since childhood and it is now as an adult that I realise what a shambles they have allowed themselves to become. I know that it's a huge organisation, that 'petty' concerns don't mean a thing to them, but why can't they listen to their customers?
I know that I should vote with my feet and move bank and I do feel like doing that. Thank God for internet banking so I don't have to face their call centres, I used to have to endure a monthly hellish hour on the phone to the call centres to try and pay bills and move money. I lost count of the times that I was disconnected and that transactions were deemed done and were not done.
Complain? I tried. I asked to speak to someone in charge, to be rudely informed that I couldn't. Try finding somewhere to complain on their website too, finding a number to call is impossible.
Two months ago I applied for a new credit card, I was sent the documents, I filled them in and posted them and I've heard nothing since.
Arrogant bankers.
